Sponsored Events

The EDF Energy Birmingham Half Marathon was the first major road race to be staged in the city for more than 20 years and received nearly 9,000 entries and an estimated 50,000 spectators lined the route to cheer on the runners, many of whom were running for charity. On Sunday 26th October 2008, Dharminder Gill, Shaminder Gill, Bhavenbir Rana and Karamveer Rana supported CEDF; all finished with respectable times and between them raised £615.00 for the charity. All four runners have expressed interest in participating in the 2009 race.

Shaminder Gill made CEDF his charity of choice when he decided to run the Flora London Marathon on Sunday 26th April 2009. He started training in January and by the time he ran the marathon; he had covered over 400 miles in training. He crossed the finish line with a fantastic time of 03:42:15 raising total sponsorship of £2870.56.
